The Reality of Behavioral Integrity Among Scout Leaders at Diyala University

Abstract

The research aimed to explore the behavioral integrity among scout leaders at Diyala University. The researcher used the descriptive method with a survey approach as the most suitable method to address the research problem. The research population consisted of scout leaders at Diyala University, selected purposively, with a total of 14 leaders. The research sample was selected randomly, comprising 8 leaders, representing 57.14% after excluding 5 individuals from the pilot study and 3 who could not be contacted for specific reasons.

The results indicated that the sample members possessed a very good level of behavioral integrity, enabling them to provide effective leadership during the execution of their duties in the scouting movement. The researcher recommends that scout leaders should undergo continuous training on scouting values and principles and how to apply them in their practical lives. Additionally, the leader should be a good role model for the scouts in all their actions and words. The leader should communicate with the scouts continuously, listen to their opinions and suggestions, and conduct self-assessment periodically to identify and improve their weaknesses. Furthermore, the researcher recommends conducting additional studies on behavioral integrity and linking it to other variables in scouting.
