The effect of using some assistive devices in developing the accuracy of shooting skills in youth football.

Abstract

Football is a widely played team sport, encompassing a variety of basic skills, including defensive and offensive skills. Shooting is among the most important of these, as it represents the direct means of scoring goals and giving the team an advantage over its opponents. The research problem lies in the lack of interest some coaches have shown in using assistive devices in training their players, which has negatively impacted their ability to shoot accurately and efficiently. Based on this, the researcher developed a set of assistive devices that contribute to developing this skill and enhancing its performance among players.The research aims to:  Identify the impact of using certain assistive devices in developing the shooting skill among Damok Youth Sports Club football players. The researcher used the experimental approach using the "equivalent group" method. The research community was defined as the youth players at Damok Sports Club, numbering (20) players. A simple random sample of (16) players was selected, representing (80%) of the research community. The researcher conducted a pre-test for the two groups (experimental and control). The assistive devices were then introduced to the experimental group, which worked for two months, with a rate of three training sessions per week. The post-test was then conducted for both groups. The researcher used statistical methods (median, interquartile range, Wilcoxon, and Mann-Whitney) to process the data.  Conclusions  Assistive aids have a clear and effective impact on developing the accuracy of young soccer players' shooting skills.
