Design and standardization of a test to measure the accuracy of scoring from different distances for Football players

Abstract

    Football is considered one of the first sports to capture the attention of officials, stakeholders, and followers of sports worldwide, due to the enjoyment it provides to its viewers and the financial gains it generates for players and those involved in its development. Goal-scoring is one of the most important skills in football, as it determines match results. The team with the highest scoring ability and accuracy is always the favorite to win. This research study aimed to design a test to measure the accuracy of goals scored from different distances by football players. The research population consisted of 1340 students from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Diyala University during the academic year 2024/2025. The research sample comprised 241 third-year students. The researcher used a descriptive survey methodology, deemed most suitable for the nature of the research problem.
