The Impact of the Illustrative Diagrams Strategy on Learning Some Basic Tennis Skills among Students

The study aimed to identify the impact of using illustrative diagrams as a strategy on learning some basic tennis skills among students. The researcher adopted the experimental method with an equivalent groups design. The study population consisted of third-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, Al-Ain University, for the academic year (2025–2026), totaling (140) students distributed across (3) classes. The experiment was conducted on a sample of (28) students representing two classes (B and D), with (14) students per class. Using random selection by lottery, class (B) was chosen as the experimental group to be taught using the (illustrative diagrams) strategy, while class (D) was designated as the control group, taught according to the method followed by the course instructor. Additionally, a pilot study sample of (12) students from class (C) was included. The instructional curriculum consisted of (6) educational units, with one unit per week for each group, each lasting (90) minutes. Subsequently, post-tests were conducted. The researcher utilized the statistical software (SPSS), through which appropriate statistical methods were applied, most notably the (t)-test for related samples and the (F)-test for analysis of variance. The researcher reached several conclusions, the most significant of which was the superiority of the experimental group (illustrative diagrams) over the control group in learning some basic tennis skills among the students.
