The effect of using problem-solving techniques on developing intelligence and the skill of backhand tennis ground for students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences

The research aims to identify the effect of using the problem-solving method on the development of intelligence and the backhand stroke skill in tennis among students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. The researcher used the experimental method for its suitability to the nature of the research, conducted on students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad, for the academic year (2018-2019), with a total of (30) students. Students who participated in the preliminary experiment, totaling (5) students, as well as those who did not attend regularly, also totaling (5), were excluded, resulting in a final research sample of (20) students. The sample was randomly divided into two groups: a control group of (10) students and an experimental group of (10) students. The researcher concluded that using the problem-solving method proved effective in developing intelligence and the skill performance level of the backhand stroke in tennis. The researcher recommended using the problem-solving method as an indicator in developing intelligence and the backhand stroke skill in tennis, and conducting studies and research on other variables using the problem-solving method in various sports fields, on different samples, levels, and age stages.
