Some aspects of attention and its relationship to the accuracy of aiming from stability among the players of Qal'at Sukkar Sports Club in youth basketball

Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the level of some aspects of attention among the young players of Al-Qal'ah Sukkar Sports Club, as well as to understand the relationship between some aspects of attention and the accuracy of shooting performance from a stable position in basketball for the young players of Al-Qal'ah Sukkar Sports Club. The researcher assumed that there are statistically significant differences between some aspects of attention and the accuracy of shooting performance from a stable position in basketball for the youth. The researcher used the descriptive method with correlational studies to match it with the nature of the problem, where the research population was determined with the basketball players of Al-Qal'ah Sukkar Sports Club (youth) for the sports season 2022-2023, totaling (30) players. The sample was selected randomly from that population, consisting of (15) players, representing (50%) of the original population. The researcher used two tests, the attention concentration test and the attention stability test for the research sample, conducted pre-test and post-test, and then used the statistical package SPSS to process the data. The researcher concluded that there is a significant and meaningful relationship between some aspects of attention (attention concentration and attention stability) and shooting performance from a stable position for young basketball players. The researcher recommends the necessity of conducting similar studies taking into account other variables and different aspects of attention such as attention distribution and the relationship of other skills with basketball or any other game.
