The effect of a hypermedia-supported educational program on learning some Greco-Roman wrestling grips among juniors

Abstract

     One of the most important factors in the success of skill learning is ensuring that the learner has a positive and effective role in order to become more independent in making decisions and participate in learning skills on their own in an effective manner that goes beyond being a passive recipient. This is achieved by building an educated individual capable of self-research, creativity, and innovation. This importance is evident in the use of technology in the educational field. Therefore, the importance of the research lies in developing an educational program that contributes to mastering Greco-Roman wrestling skills for juniors, as well as saving time and effort for those involved in the educational process of such skills. The research aims to develop an educational program supported by hypermedia and to identify the impact of this program on learning some wrestling holds for juniors. The researcher hypothesizes that there are significant differences between the pre- and post-tests for the experimental and control groups. There are also significant differences in the post-tests between the two groups in favor of the post-test. The researcher used the experimental method because it is suitable for the nature of the research problem. The research community was determined by the junior wrestlers of Damok Sports Club, numbering (13) wrestlers. As for the research sample, the researcher divided the two groups by lottery into (4) for the experimental group, (4) for the control group, and (5) for the exploratory experiment. The researcher conducted homogeneity for the individuals of the research sample. The researcher determined the variables of his research and then selected the appropriate tests for them through the relative importance achieved by experts and specialists. The researcher then proceeded to apply his pre-tests and then conducted his main experiment on the experimental research sample and applied the hypermedia program for (8) weeks divided into (3) educational units per week. After the specified period ended, the researcher applied the post-tests and based on the results he obtained, he placed them in the statistical package (spss) to process the results and then analyze and discuss them. Therefore, the researcher concluded that the educational program supported by hypermedia plays a major role in raising the level of learners by expanding the horizons of thinking and showing new solutions to any situation, no matter how difficult, for young wrestlers. The use of hypermedia played a major role in developing the desire to work without boredom, among wrestlers, and the desire to repeatedly watch and perform motor skills, which led to better learning. The researcher recommends shifting technology from the art of design to strategy in teaching and learning, and designing educational programs with comprehensive content that significantly impacts the student's artistic performance outcomes, thus enhancing their performance in the educational process.
