Social Behavior and Its Relationship to Match Management for Iraqi Elite Handball League Coaches

Abstract

 The research problem included, and through the researcher's work in the field of handball, he noticed that some coaches have weakness and a defect in managing and organizing administrative work when they manage matches randomly, which indicates that they have weak social behavior towards coaches, administrators and players working with them, which negatively affects the players' performance and team results. The aim of the research is to identify the relationship between social behavior and match management for the research sample. The researcher used the descriptive approach with the survey method and correlational relationships in order to suit the research problem. The research sample is the coaches of the clubs participating in the Iraqi Elite Handball League for the season (2024-2025), numbering (60) coaches and (15) clubs. The researcher adopted the social behavior scale. As for the match management scale, the researcher built a match management scale for handball coaches and applied scientific procedures to build the scale. The results showed that the field of the coach and player has a positive relationship with all areas of match management competence, and that the field of the player and coach has a positive relationship with areas of match management competence. The match management competence scale prepared by the researcher was adopted as a scientific research tool approved by researchers for handball coaches.
