Abstract

          Shoulder injuries are among the most common injuries in handball due to the dynamic nature of the game and the repetitive, explosive movements that rely heavily on the arms and shoulders. The research problem lies in answering the following question: How effective is a proposed rehabilitation program in restoring the functional efficiency of handball players with partial tears in the anterior deltoid muscles? The research aims to design a rehabilitation program to improve the functional efficiency of the shoulder joint in handball players. In addition to determining its effect on pain relief in the injured shoulder joint, the researchers found a positive impact of using a hyperperfusion rehabilitation program on improving the functional efficiency of the injured shoulder joint. They also found statistically significant differences between pre- and post-tests in pain levels, range of motion, and strength of the muscles acting on the injured shoulder joint, favoring the post-tests. The researcher used an experimental design with a single experimental group, employing pre- and post-test measurements, as this was deemed most suitable for the nature of the research. The research sample consisted of six advanced handball players from clubs in Babylon, deliberately selected due to shoulder joint injuries. Based on the results, the researcher recommends incorporating both ischemic and hyper perfusion techniques into rehabilitation programs for shoulder joint injuries, given their effectiveness in accelerating functional recovery. Furthermore, hyper perfusion techniques, such as localized heat or massage, are recommended before repetitive activities to improve blood flow and tissue elasticity, while ischemic rehabilitation exercises provide an effective and safe method for enhancing shoulder joint function in handball players.
