Abstract

Learning and teaching methods are important factors in determining the results and outputs of the educational process, whose effects are reflected on the experiences that the learner acquires from the educational situations he is exposed to. First-stage students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Salah Al-Din University, in addition to revealing the difference between the divergent method according to the learning styles of Kolb's model and the method used in the post-tests for some basic skills specific to football.  The researchers used the experimental approach due to its suitability to the nature of the research, and the research sample was determined from first-year students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Salahuddin University. They were divided into two experimental groups that used the divergent method according to Kolb's model, and the control group used the method used. The most important of them: There is a positive effect of the spacing method according to Kolb's model in acquiring specific basic skills, except for the skill of dribbling in football. The spacing method according to Kolb's model has a greater effect than the method used in the dribbling and scoring skills. The researchers recommended strengthening teaching methods based on learning styles according to Kolb's model, which develop students' basic football skills, such as the divergent style.
