Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze certain biomechanical variables associated with the execution of the lunge skill and their relationship to touch accuracy among fencing players. The researcher adopted a descriptive approach using a correlational method, as it suits the nature and objectives of the problem. The research sample consisted of (10) fencers from Karbala Sports Club. The research procedures included measuring a set of biomechanical variables specific to the lunge performance using kinematic analysis and a force platform, in addition to measuring touch accuracy through a standardized test designed for this purpose. The data were statistically processed using the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient, and linear regression analysis. The results revealed significant correlation relationships between the biomechanical variables and touch accuracy. Regression analysis results indicated that certain biomechanical variables significantly contribute to explaining the level of touch accuracy among fencers. In light of these findings, the researcher concluded that improving the biomechanical efficiency of the lunge movement directly contributes to enhancing touch accuracy, and that controlling motor performance variables represents a fundamental factor in developing skill achievement in fencing. The researcher recommends the necessity of adopting biomechanical analysis in training and evaluation, focusing on developing the variables that influence performance accuracy.
