Abstract

This research aims to identify the values of the most important kinematic variables for the diagonal spike skill in youth volleyball players, and to determine the percentage of contribution of these variables to achieving optimal performance. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method due to its suitability for the research problem. The research population included youth volleyball players in Wasit Governorate clubs. The sample consisted of players specialized in the spike skill. The actual performance was recorded using high-speed cameras, and the kinematic variables were extracted using the (Kinovea) motion analysis software. The data were statistically analyzed, and the contribution percentages were extracted. The results concluded that there are specific kinematic variables, such as the speed of the last step, the height of the ball strike point, and the angle of trunk inclination, which possess the highest contribution percentages in the success of the diagonal spike skill. The researcher recommends the necessity of relying on these governing variables in evaluating and directing the training of youth volleyball players to improve their offensive efficiency.
