Abstract

 Hard work leads to reaching the highest levels in various fields, including the sports field in all collective games, especially handball, by investing the human energies who have capabilities and capabilities that qualify them to perform the required skills in handball, and that the selection of players according to the most important physical capabilities and the definition of standards and levels for them and considering them as indicators The selection of the back line players represented by (the playmaker and the right and left forearm players) is one of the important things to strengthen the team because of their role in the offensive and defensive skill performance, so the researcher identified a research problem that the criteria and levels should be updated for the most important physical abilities as an indicator for selecting the back line players in handball The study aimed to identify the most important physical abilities and build standards and levels for them as indicators for selecting players in the back line in handball. The researcher identified a research community with Premier League players in handball for the season (2022-2023). using the survey method, and then collecting data and processing them statistically, and the study concluded that the most important capabilities of the players in the back line were (explosive strength, transitional speed, endurance of speed, agility) and setting standards and levels as indicators for selecting players in the light of the results. The study recommends the use of physical tests and the adoption of standards and levels When selecting players for the back line in handball.
