School bullying in relation to psychological pressures among physical education teachers in Wasit province

Abstract

The research aims to identify school bullying and psychological pressures among male and female physical education and sports science teachers in Wasit. It also aims to identify the correlational relationship between psychological pressures and school bullying among physical education and sports science teachers in Wasit province. The researchers used a descriptive approach with survey methods and correlational analysis. The research community consisted of physical education and sports science teachers in Wasit province, Kut district. The scale was constructed based on a sample of 685 sports teachers in Baghdad province, the first education directorate of Al-Karkh. The research sample consisted of 611 male and female physical education and sports science teachers distributed across the district's schools, and all sample members were included. The researchers concluded that physical education and sports science teachers in Wasit province do not exhibit the phenomenon of school bullying and psychological pressures. There were statistically significant differences between male and female physical education and sports science teachers in terms of the variables of gender, favoring male teachers in the school bullying and psychological pressure scales. The researchers recommend emphasizing the importance of the role of physical education and sports science teachers in combating bullying in the school environment, as it is everyone's responsibility to help each other, as well as paying attention to students, solving their problems, and addressing the psychological pressures they face. They also recommend that relevant colleges should consider accepting students based on their preferences and inclinations, and not have families choose colleges for their children to ensure stability in future professional work.
