Abstract

This study aims to enhance the teaching of fundamental skills in fencing, with particular emphasis on basic attack techniques using the foil. The research employs an effective instructional model - the Hilda Taba model - which has demonstrated its efficacy in improving scientific understanding and analysis of movements, enabling learners to systematically connect theoretical knowledge with practical application. The study seeks to achieve optimal learning of fencing skills in alignment with modern educational curricula and their requirements.Through the researcher's practical teaching experience, particularly in fencing instruction, a noticeable weakness was observed in students' technical performance of basic attacks. The current learning outcomes fail to meet expected standards, potentially due to the incompatibility of the instructional model with learners' capabilities or their comprehension of performance techniques. This identified gap necessitated an examination of the problem and experimentation with the Hilda Taba model to evaluate its effectiveness in improving the learning of these skills.The research objectives focused on assessing the impact of the Hilda Taba model on learning basic attack skills in foil fencing among students, utilizing a precise experimental methodology. The results revealed that the Hilda Taba model represents one of the most suitable instructional approaches for teaching basic attack skills in fencing, demonstrating significant improvement in students' technical performance. Based on these findings, the study recommends adopting this model in educational practice due to its effectiveness in achieving desired learning outcomes.
