Abstract

Modern trends in teaching methods call for the use of methods and models appropriate to the type of sports activity and the tendency to use more advanced models to enable the student to reach the best level of skill performance. Therefore, the problem of the research lies in the researcher’s observation that the process of learning football skills is dominated by a kind of boredom and monotony and a lack of a feeling of comfort and psychological satisfaction as a result of the student receiving traditional methods that do not take into account individual differences The aim of the research is to identify the effect of teaching according to Thelen’s model on motor satisfaction and learning the skill of scoring in football for students. The researcher used the experimental method with a design of (two equivalent groups). The researcher identified the research community as the first-stage students in the College of Physical Education - Al-Qadisiyah University for the academic year 2023-2024, numbering (130) students, the research sample The research sample included (36) students divided into two groups. The experimental group learned the educational curriculum using the Thielen model, while the control group learned using the method followed by the teacher. The importance of the research lies in applying a new model in learning football skills that focuses on the learner’s activity and positivity and helps in developing motor skills among students, which saves time and effort for teachers In light of the above, the researcher reached several conclusions, the most important of which is that the Thielen model is more effective than the method followed by the teacher in motor satisfaction and learning the skill of scoring in football. One of the most important recommendations recommended by the researcher is to adopt this model because of its major role in learning some football skills.
