The effect of skill exercises according to the insight method on cognitive motivation and learning basketball shooting skill for students

This research aims to examine the impact of skill exercises based on the insight method on students' cognitive motivation to learn basketball shooting skills. The concept of insight is a psychological and educational theory that has brought about a qualitative shift in understanding the learning process. This method differs from traditional methods that rely on the principle of gradual, step-by-step learning. The process of learning through insight occurs through a sudden realization of the relationship and interconnectedness between the skill components that comprise the learning situation Cognitive motivation is important for the student because it requires understanding, perception and application of mental processes. The problem focuses on understanding the whole before analyzing the parts, which means that the true understanding of the educational situation comes from seeing the overall relationships between the elements or parts of the basketball skill for students, and the learning process does not depend on repetition only or trial and error, but on the patterns and relationships present in the skill itself and breaking down the skill into parts and then learning it gradually, which contributes to the learning process. The researcher used the experimental method due to the nature of the problem’s suitability, and the data was processed Using the statistical package (SPSS), the study concluded that students are able to understand the relationships and interconnections between the skill components and can therefore solve problems they encounter in the process of learning basketball shooting in a comprehensive manner, rather than through trial and error. The study recommended the use of this method in learning other sports skills
