The effect of educational units according to the cognitive trips strategy on creative thinking and learning the skills of sending and handling (from above) for second-year middle school female students

Abstract

The importance of the study lies in using the cognitive trips strategy through carefully selected and previously prepared resources and websites by the school, which provide students with tasks that enable them to build and acquire knowledge using higher-order thinking skills. The main research problem was represented by the weakness in creative thinking and the skills of sending and handling (from above) in volleyball for intermediate stage students. Therefore, the researcher decided to delve into this problem and identify the causes as well as try to develop appropriate solutions in order to raise the level of learning this skill. The objectives of the study are to prepare educational units according to the cognitive trips strategy and identify their impact on creative thinking and learning and the skills of sending and handling (from above) in volleyball. The research method and sample: The researcher used the experimental method because it is suitable for the nature of the problem to be solved. The research sample consisted of second-year middle school students (M/Umm Salama), numbering (85) students. Based on the results of the research, the researcher reached the following conclusions and recommendations: The emergence of a preference for the impact of using cognitive trips and their effectiveness on the approach followed in creative thinking and the skills of sending and handling (from above) in volleyball. The researcher recommended emphasizing the use of the cognitive trips strategy in education because it is more influential in various stages of learning and is an essential part of the content of the curriculum, and the necessity of using the cognitive trips strategy in learning other skills in volleyball.
