Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the motivational trait and its relationship to the performance of the skill of defending the court, and the imposition of the research is that there are statistically significant differences between the motivational trait and the performance of the skill of defending the court of the players of the University of Baghdad volleyball team. The research included (12) players for the Baghdad University team / volleyball, while the research sample was (12) for the player, and the research sample constituted (100%). The most important conclusions are that the players of the University of Baghdad volleyball team enjoy positive motivational features. The two researchers also concluded that there is a strong relationship between motivational traits and the skill of defending the court in volleyball. The most important recommendations are to work on developing motivational traits through opening courses and holding sports tournaments
