Abstract

The aim of the research is to use a critical thinking scale for students in the second stage and prepare educational units using the Perkins-Blythe Model to learn the smash and blocking skills. The importance of the research emerged by relying on Perkins-Blythe in critical thinking and learning the smash and blocking skills. As for the research problem, there is a weakness in the performance of the two skills due to their difficulty, which requires the employment of models and methods that facilitate the learning process and make it a fruitful process. The experimental approach was relied upon for the experimental and control groups. The community boundaries of the research are represented by the second-year students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Anbar University, who are continuing with the academic year (2024-2025). Their number reached (250) students, and the sample The research, where the experimental and control research sample reached 40 students divided into two groups, each group containing 20 students, and they were randomly selected from Section C. Statistical treatments and steps were applied in a series to be appropriate for the research sample. Then, educational units were prepared, one unit per week, at a rate of (8) educational units for two months. After that, the results used were verified using the SPSS statistical program. The critical thinking scale is a valid tool for measuring an indicator for students in the second stage to achieve scientific and specific conditions for measurement and evaluation. The researchers targeted the absence of the Perkins-Blyth model positively in critical thinking and the skills of smash and block wall for students, and applying the steps of the internal Perkins-Blyth model, training students to listen and speak, and participate in that, and the desire for effective participation. The validity of the critical thinking scale is appropriate for measuring what was set for its time. The researchers recommended urging teaching to employ all new programs and modern models, especially the Perkins-Blyth model, in teaching volleyball to students Adopting a critical thinking scale prepared by researchers in training and educational centers, Ministry of Education schools, and colleges of physical education and sports sciences. The necessity of taking into account individual differences among students and giving them full opportunity to achieve the desired goal.
